New Website

Studio Colrouphobia ( =1mpact & =Airgid ) just launched a new spanking website.

That's right, StudioColrouphobia.com [link] is finally up and running. We are on the lookout for any minor details needed to be fixed but otherwise it should run like a charm :)

Commissions

As of this semester I am in a tighter spot financially. to be able to put food on the table for my children and pay bills, as well as finishing my studies (this is my last semester) I need to do more commissions, so I'm opening up for commissions right here on DA.

Amounts listed are shown in Euro.
Payments are accepted up front after arrangements have been made. Exceptions made for private commissions and special circumstances only!
I currently only accept funds via pay-pal.
I must be notified of time sensitive deadlines up front.

Other info
You will be noted or emailed with detailed information upon your notice of commission interest.

All commissions come with a step by step walk through personally for you. Keep in mind that this is not the same as a tutorial.

You are e-mailed and kept updated regularly with progress info. E-mails and notes are welcome in return during progress.

A large resolution PSD is available for all digital commissions for private use only. Not for reproduction rights.
I retain the right to use all commissioned artwork for my portfolio. This means that I will use your commission in my portfolio in various places and on various forums on the internet to showcase what I can do. If you have reservations against this please notify me about this up-front
.

I have also received some queries regarding commissions and a lot of people never get back to me after receiving info of my rates. Seeing as how I really like fellow deviant (and friend) *Aerion-the-Faithful's miniMasterpieces I have decided to open up for this sort of commissions myself.
I am available for these sort of commissions. I will update here when the list of commissions is full. The fun stuff is, the price of these small images will be ridiculous: just 20 USD!

But, what is exactly a MiniMasterpiece? It’s this:

One(!) of the above is a miniMasterpiece.
It's exactly the same as a fully rendered illustration from me, but small. Its size being approximately 10,5 x 29cm or for the non metric folks in inches 4,1 x 11,69. DPI is of your choice up to 300.
How does this work? Exactly as my regular commissions process: you send me a Note, we talk about what you want, you deliver the payment and we start on your piece. Once it's done, I'll send the original to you!
Since I work digitally, this means that I will e-mail you your piece. I can also, for a smaller fee ($3) Send you a dvd with the image on. If you order several miniMasterpieces I will ship the dvd for free automatically, direct to your home!

Payment? I use PayPal. It is easy and direct. Unfortunately I do not use any other paymentsystems just yet.
I do not charge any extra fees for Paypals fees, they are included in the price for these miniMasterpieces!

What can you get? ANYTHING. From the darkness of the 41st Millenium of Warhammer 40,000 or Fantasy realms to Comicbook Heroes; Your favourite flower arrangement, The Primarchs of the Emperor, world of Warcraft characters or the likes are all available. Just bear in mind that they have to fit within that said 6”x2” frame, so there isn't a chance for a battle to be drawn! For that, you have to commission a regular illustration :)

If you wish to commission me or =Airgid for regular illustrations, conceptual artwork or the likes then feel free to either note us through our accounts or through the Studio-account. Or mail us through studio.colrouphobia@gmail.com

I saw your sanguinius picture today. And the first thing my friend said was to try and do that for art class. First off I wanted to ask your permission first. two I was curious what medium you used. (or what would be good) And third, that picture is absolutely amazing. That makes sanguinius look like a truly mighty warrior. Keep up the good work!

Hello and thank you for the kind words.
I really appreciate that you first ask for permission to do this. It is an honour when people find ones work so good they would want to paint something similar or the same. Also, I know one of the better ways to learn how to paint and illustrate is to copy the work of others and see how close one got.

You are perfectly welcome to do this for artclass and your own evolution as an artist. As long as you do not sell the result (if a direct copy) I am perfectly fine with it.

I used Photoshop to paint this. I believe you could paint it in acrylics, oil or watercolour just as good, it is a matter what you feel comfortable with. I have no experience, really, with traditional media myself and so I cant say which would be good, but I imagine that Oils and Acrylics would come closest in how it looks.

My suggestion is that you also ask your art-teacher regarding transparencies with colours in the different mediums. If you can make watercolour(aquarel) opaque then it shouldn't be a problem at all to paint this in watercolours also.
Good luck and I would love to see the result...why not note me about it when you are done?

Thanks for the advice. But I don't think you have to worry about me selling this. Because if it comes out close to how I want it I'll be keeping it. I was planning on pastels or acrylics. But first I have to manage to draw this. (I never trace projects of this magnitude. Grids all the way!) I'll be sure to let you know when I'm done or if I really get stuck on something.

And of course you'll be getting all the credit for such an amazing project idea.
